MBA eligibility

MBA eligibility criteria as full-time are as follows:

  • Any discipline of graduation or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
  • Final-year candidates doing graduation are eligible to apply. They should give the graduation degree completion proof with the duration specified.

Most institutes follow the criteria of the minimum score as 50 per cent in graduation. However, for reserved category, 45 per cent is the required aggregate.

What is MBA?

MBA or Master of Business Administration is a popular program of post-graduate. It is a programme for two years. It is also the gateway to job opportunities. Some of the MBA program facts are:

  • The reason for MBA gaining popularity as a course is because any background students can pursue it. It may be commerce, science, and humanities.
  • A Post-graduation diploma in Management or a regular MBA course has a course with six semesters or four semesters. There are private institutes offering programs in PGDM for one-year, as well.
  • Several management institutes offer PGD or PGP, Post-Graduate Diploma or Post-Graduate Programme in Management. It is replacing an MBA degree and does not have much difference in their titles.

MBA Admissions

MBA admissions typically to all the B-schools is via an admission test. The test may be any of these types:

  • National Level Test held by a top B-school national or an apex testing body on behalf of other colleges participating, such as MAT, CAT, ATMA. Or CMAT.
  • B-school entrance test conducted by the school itself for its own MBA program. The scores are accepted as qualification criteria. The tests are NMAT, XAT, IIFT, IBSAT, SNAP, etc.
  • State Level Test is held by a state testing body or a state-level top B-school for the other colleges participating in the state such as MAH-CET, TANCET, KMAT,OJEE , or APICET.
  • There are university entrance tests conducted for the MBA programs by colleges such as HPU MAT, KIITEE, etc.

These exams are followed by screening round as the second level. It maybe a personal interview or a group discussion.
 
The MBA programs have subjects such as economics, accounting, operations, marketing, and a few elective courses allowing participants to follow professional or personal interests. The MBA candidates are asked to complete at an organization or a company their internship, and it can lead to concrete jobs after the program completion.
